Abstract

Sekolah merupakan lembaga pendidikan yang menyediakan proses pendidikan formal. Sekolah berfungsi untuk membuka pemikiran, mengasah kemampuan sosial, hingga menyalurkan kemampuan anak. SMAN 1 Siborongborong merupakan sekolah unggul yang ada di kabupaten Tapanuli Utara, Sumatera Utara. Untuk dapat tetap unggul SMAN 1 Siborongborong sendiri sudah menggunakan sistem informasi dalam melakukan proses bisnisnya. Penelitian ini akan melakukan analisis value chain dari sistem informasi sekolah berbasis pendekatan Ward dan Peppard di SMAN 1 Siborongborong. Lingkungan bisnis internal sekolah dianalisin menggunakan alat analisis value chain dan analisis SWOT, sedangkan lingkungan bisnis eksternal sekolah dianalisis dengan alat analisis PEST. Hasil analisis SWOT dan PEST menunjukan bahwa SMAN 1 Siborongborong memiliki peluang yang besar untuk semakin maju, akan tetapi dalam penerapan sistem informasi internal, sekolah masih perlu melakukan beberapa peningkatan. Sehingga beberapa peningkatan disarankan agar diterapkan di sekolah sehingga sekolah dapat meraih peluang dan menghindari ancaman. / Schools are educational institutions that provide a formal education process. Schools function to open minds, hone social skills, to channel children's abilities. SMAN 1 Siborongborong is a superior school in North Tapanuli district, North Sumatra. To be able to stay ahead SMAN 1 Siborongborong itself already uses information systems in carrying out its business processes. This study will analyze the value chain of the school information system based on the Ward and Peppard approach at SMAN 1 Siborongborong. The school's internal business environment was analyzed using the value chain analysis tool and SWOT analysis, while the school's external business environment was analyzed using the PEST analysis tool. The results of the SWOT and PEST analysis show that SMAN 1 Siborongborong has a great opportunity to advance, but in implementing the internal information system, the school still needs to make some improvements. So that some improvements are suggested to be implemented in schools so that schools can seize opportunities and avoid threats.
