Abstract

Abstrak Financial distress atau kesulitan keuangan adalah kondisi keuangan perusahaan sebelum terjadinya kebangkrutan. Kondisi tersebut perlu diantisipasi sedini mungkin agar manajemen dapat melakukan tindakan pencegahan dengan segera. Salah satu faktor penentu tinggi atau rendahnya kemungkinan terjadinya financial distress adalah kondisi perekonomian di negara perusahaan tersebut beroperasi yang dalam penelitian ini adalah Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus untuk mencari perbedaan kemungkinan terjadinya financial distress pada PT Tunas Ridean Tbk tahun 2019, tahun 2020, dan tahun 2021 atau sebelum, tahun pertama, dan tahun kedua pandemi Covid-19. Ketiga tahun tersebut dipilih karena kondisi ekonomi Indonesia memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda-beda di setiap tahunnya. Perbedaan tersebut muncul karena pada tahun 2019, kondisi ekonomi masih stabil karena belum terdampak pandemi Covid-19, sedangkan pada tahun 2020, ekonomi mulai terguncang akibat dari pandemi Covid-19. Perekonomian Indonesia mulai bangkit pada tahun 2021 karena kondisi pandemi yang mulai terkendali. Perbedaan karakteristik ekonomi tersebut tidak merubah tingkat kemungkinan terjadinya financial distress pada PT Tunas Ridean Tbk, tetapi merubah tingkat kemungkinan terjadinya financial distress pada rata-rata industri yang mana meningkat dari tahun 2019 ke tahun 2020 dan menurun kembali pada tahun 2021. / Financial distress is a financial condition before bankruptcy. Early anticipation is needed to avoid that condition by the management as soon as possible. one of many factors that determine the probability of financial distress is the economic condition of the country where the company based that is Indonesia in this research. This research focused to find differences in the probability of financial distress in PT Tunas Ridean Tbk in the year 2019, the year 2020, and the year 2021 or before, the first year, and the second year of Covid-19 pandemic. Those three years were selected because the economic condition of each year is different from one to another. In 2019, the economic condition is stable because there is no pandemic, while in 2020 the economic condition starts to face downhill because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The economic condition starts to get better in 2021 because the Covid-19 pandemic is already under control. That differences in economic conditions among those three years do not change the probability of financial distress of PT Tunas Ridean Tbk but change the probability of financial distress of the industry average which increases from 2019 to 2020 and decreases in 2021.
