Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh timbulnya dampak negatif dari urbanisasi berupa permasalahan dasar daerah perkotaan yaitu kemiskinan dan penurunan kualitas lingkungan. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai pada penelitian ini antara lain : (1) Bagaimana bentuk dan struktur wilayah Kota Jambi, (2) Mengetahui apa saja faktor yang memengaruhi pola penggunaan lahan Kota Jambi menjadi multisentris. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan objek penelitiannya adalah Kota Jambi. Metode analisis data menggunakan metode time series dengan periode waktu sejak masa kesultanan sampai dengan masa kemerdekaan tepatnya di tahun 2022. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer dan sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dengan metode observasi dan wawancara, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dengan metode dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pola penggunaan lahan di Kota Jambi sejak masa kesultanan hingga masa kemerdekaan tepatnya di tahun 2010-an berpola monosentris. Di mana pusat kota yaitu Kecamatan Pasar Jambi, menjadi lokasi pemusatan kegiatan industri dan pemukiman yang disebabkan teknologi kuno terkait pengangkutan hasil produksi dan inovasi transportasi dalam kota. Namun, pola yang monosentris tersebut bergeser menjadi multisentris. Di mana muncul pusat konsentrasi kegiatan lainnya di luar pusat kota yang disebabkan oleh desentralisasi populasi dan peningkatan jumlah kendaraan pribadi. / This research is motivated by the emergence of negative impacts of urbanization in the form of basic problems in urban areas, namely poverty and a decrease in environmental quality. The objectives to be achieved in this study include: (1) How is the shape and structure of the Jambi City area, (2) Knowing what are the factors that affect the land use pattern of Jambi City to be multicentric. This research is a quantitative research with the object of research being Jambi City. The data analysis method uses the time series method with a time period from the sultanate period to the time of independence precisely in 2022. The data used are primary and secondary data. Primary data are obtained by observation and interview methods, while secondary data are obtained by documentation methods. The results showed that the pattern of land use in Jambi City from the sultanate period to the time of independence to be precise in the 2010s was monocentric. Where the city center, namely Pasar Jambi District, is the location of the concentration of industrial activities and settlements y angdue to ancient technology related to the transportation of production products and transportation innovations in the city. However, the monocentric pattern shifted to multicentric. Where appeared other centers of concentration of activities outside the city center caused by the decentralization of the population and the increase in the number of private vehicles.
