Abstract
Pelaksanaan investasi dan kegiatan pembangunan di Kota Binjai terus berlangsung dengan sangat cepat yang menyebabkan terjadinya berbagai perkembangan dan perubahan yang semakin meluas dalam pemanfaatan ruang wilayah kota untuk mendukung Kota Binjai sebagai bagian dari Kawasan Strategis Nasional perkotaan Mebidangro. Guna mengoptimalkan perkembangannya, perlu untuk mengetahui sektor ekonomi prioritas yang menjadi keunggulan kompetitif Kota Binjai demi memanfaatkan adanya efek pengganda sehingga pertumbuhan ekonomi dapat meningkat dengan lebih cepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sektor ekonomi yang menjadi sektor ekonomi unggulan dalam perekonomian Kota Binjai dan mengetahui kecamatan yang menjadi pusat pertumbuhan di Kota Binjai. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mengumpulkan data dan informasi dari berbagai literatur seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan peraturan-peraturan yang relevan, serta mengumpulkan data sekunder berupa data PDRB Kota Binjai dan data primer berupa jarak antar kecamatan di Kota Binjai. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis location quotient, analisis shift share, analisis model rasio pertumbuhan, analisis overlay, dan analisis model gravitasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, terdapat tiga sektor ekonomi unggulan di Kota Binjai yaitu sektor Pengadaan Listrik dan Gas, sektor Perdagangan Besar dan Eceran; Reparasi Mobil dan Sepeda Motor, dan sektor Real Estat. Serta pusat pertumbuhan Kota Binjai pada tahun 2021 terletak di Kecamatan Binjai Utara. / The implementation of investment and development activities in Binjai City continues to take place very quickly which has led to various developments and changes that are increasingly widespread in the use of city area space to support Binjai City as part of the Mebidangro Urban National Strategic Area. In order to optimize its development, it is necessary to know the priority economic sectors that are the competitive advantage of Binjai City in order to take advantage of the multiplier effect so that economic growth can increase more quickly. This study aims to find out which economic sector is the leading economic sector in the economy of Binjai City and find out which districts are the center of growth in Binjai City. The research method used is to collect data and information from various literature such as books, scientific journals, and relevant regulations, as well as collect secondary data in the form of GRDP data in Binjai City and primary data in the form of distances between sub-districts in Binjai City. The analysis techniques used are location quotient analysis, shift share analysis, growth ratio model analysis, overlay analysis, and gravity model analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, there are three leading economic sectors in Binjai City, namely the Electricity and Gas Procurement sector, the Large Trade and Retail; Car and Motorcycle Repair sector, and the Real Estate sector. As well as the growth center of Binjai City in 2021 is located in North Binjai District.
