Abstract

ABSTRAK Penerapan prinsip keberlanjutan usaha saat ini semakin menjadi perhatian berbagai pihak, mulai dari investor, pemerintah, dan masyarakat. Prinsip keberlanjutan ditetapkan dalam suatu kerangka bernama Environmental, Social, dan Corporate Governance (ESG). Sementara itu, kegiatan usaha suatu perusahaan tidak terlepas dari aktivitas untuk meningkatkan nilai. Salah satu motif perusahaan dalam menerapkan ESG adalah untuk meningkatkan nilai perusahaan. Namun, hasil penelitian terdahulu mengenai pengaruh kinerja ESG terhadap nilai perusahaan masih belum konklusif. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh penerapan ESG terhadap nilai perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi data panel dengan metode Generalized Least Square terhadap perusahaan terbuka di Indonesia dalam kurun waktu 2021 sampai dengan 2023. Sebanyak 23 perusahaan dipilih sebagai sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pilar ESG tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan secara signifikan. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi bukti empiris bagi perusahaan dalam mengevaluasi strategi kebijakan ESG yang telah diterapkan dan bagi pemerintah dalam melakukan desain kebijakan investasi pemerintah yang mempertimbangkan aspek lingkungan dan sosial untuk mencapai manfaat ekonomi berupa peningkatan nilai perusahaan. Kata kunci: Keberlanjutan, Environmental, Social, Governance, Tobin’s Q, Nilai Perusahaan ABSTRACT The application of business sustainability principles is currently a concern of various parties, ranging from investors, government, and society. Sustainability principles are set out in a framework called Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG). Meanwhile, the business activities of a company cannot be separated from activities to maximize firm value. One of the company's motives in implementing ESG is to increase firm value. However, the results of previous studies on the effect of ESG performance on firm value are inconclusive. Therefore, this study aims to determine and elucidate the effect of ESG implementation on firm value. This study uses panel data regression analysis with the Generalized Least Square method on publicly listed companies in Indonesia from 2021 to 2023. A total of 23 companies were selected as samples using purposive sampling method. The results showed that the application of the ESG pillar had no significant effect on firm value. This research is expected to be empirical evidence for companies in evaluating the ESG policy strategies that have been implemented and for the government in designing government investment policies that consider environmental and social aspects to achieve economic benefits in the form of increasing firm value.
